The weather has really changed this week, hasn't it? This morning was very dark and cold, then later the sun came out. It is definitely feeling very autumnal. It got me thinking of five simple ways to feel cosy this Autumn.
1. Wrap up and mindfully take a walk
Even if you don't live in the middle of the countryside, just go for a walk and look around you. By mindfully walking you will allow yourself a moment of calm.
Look at the colours of the trees as they change from green to golden yellow and vibrant reds.
Feel the crispy leaves under your feet.
I don't know about you, but there is a distinctive autumnal smell. Breathe it in. Embrace the changes. Say goodbye to the summer and think about what you are going to enjoy about this new season.
2. Light candles
There is a very noticeable change in how early it gets dark at the moment. isn't there? Use this time to create a calm and cosy atmosphere in your home by lighting some candles.
3. Have a bath
When it is cold, there is something so nice about having a bath to help you feel warm and cosy.
It is also an amazing way to fit in some self-care.
4. Change your bed
You can't beat changing your bed to create that lovely fresh, cosy feeling.
I use Tuesday as my day for getting my life together, and I love getting into bed on Tuesday night and smelling the fresh, clean sheets. I always have the best nights sleep in my cosy bed.
Today was that extra cosy stuff going on though as we put the winter blanket on. Probably not an every night necessity at the moment, but definitely something I want to keep to hand.
5. Snuggle up and watch a box set
The final simple way to feel cosy this Autumn is about staying in a snuggling up. Grab a blanket, light the candles and enjoy a film or a box set.
At the moment, I am binge-watching. This Is Us on Amazon Prime. Admittedly, this is one of the reasons I am late putting this post up today! Seriously, if you haven't watched This Is Us, I would highly recommend it.
How do you get cosy during autumn?
Lots of love,
Helen x
