Everything Has Changed, Including The Blog

Welcome to What Helen Loves! I managed to accidentally delete my old blog. Seriously, it's only something I could do! After initially feeling annoyed with myself, I thought it was the perfect opportunity to start afresh. Along with taking over the pub, I thought it was the ideal opportunity for a quick personal catch up and let you know that everything has changed, including the blog.

Coffee and flowers with a sign saying 'Good morning' in a post about everything has changed, including the blog.

Doesn't time fly when you're having fun!

So much has changed in just the last six months. I took over the pub, and we moved.

When I think back to this time last year, I was with my friend picking out her wedding dress.

Today I'm just about to go downstairs to the pub as we have a large Christmas party booking. This year has completely flown by, hasn't it?

Like how is it even almost Christmas? I'm not organised in the slightest!

What Helen Loves

How did I manage to delete my blog I hear you say?

I wanted to move back to Blogger. Wordpress has lots of advantages with the plugins, but the cost of the hosting and the SSL just seems very excessive, especially as I run the blog as a hobby and don't make money from it.

The site also ran so slowly, and it affected my DA. Not that I think DA that important, but loading and reading the blog was slow. Who wants to read a blog post that takes ages to load? I certainly don't like the thought of a reader experiencing that.

One thing I did set out to achieve this year was to live a more simple life, and Blogger just feels a better fit with that goal.

Unfortunately, the swapping over was not straightforward as I would have hoped for and I managed to delete my blog, Helen Loves. Thankfully, I had backed it up!

After several unsuccessful chats to GoDaddy, I decided to just cut my losses and start again.

Welcome to the new blog

The blog will still be all about wellbeing and living a life you love. I have copied over the posts from the last year. I'm just in the process of fixing the photos, and the links don't work! It may only take a while as I do it in between running the pub.

My aim is to still keep up with the blog, and once things get into a routine, I want to go back to my weekly posting.

I've felt quite anxious the past few weeks, and it always affects my creative flow. I guess its the fight or flight mode.

Thankfully, life at the pub is starting to feel a bit more comfortable, and we are beginning to find some sort of routine. The customers are so lovely, and we have had lots of positive feedback. Long may that continue!

So as you can see, everything has changed, including the blog!

Expect lots of feel-good wellbeing, productively, and motivation posts coming soon.

Hope to see you very soon!

Lots of love,
Helen x

  1. All the best for all you have going for you! Changing your blog to a different site sounds tedious, but if you can make it work, it's great :)
