“At the end of the day, all that matters is love and memories so make sure you give it and make sure you make them.” - Trent Shelton.
Panasonic Lumix challenged me to think about how we can capture our precious moments to celebrate the release of their new waterproof camera. I'm rubbish at remembering to capture the occasion, so this was the perfect challenge!
For our date, we decided to do head into Central. We live in London, so there is no shortage of things to do. First stop was brunch at Coppa, followed by a wander around. We spotted this cute arched flower display at Leadenhall Market and couldn't resist.
We finished off the day heading to the Sky Garden. It's free to go up (but it's better to book in advance), and you have some of the most stunning skyline views. Perfect for photo opportunities or just the chance to relax, sip a cocktail and appreciate life.
Simple ways that you can create lasting memories with your partner:
1. Discover a new place together
One of the best ways to create lasting memories is to discover something new together.Look out for offers or things like Groupon, which can help you save a fortune.
2. Have a picnic in the park
The downside is it's weather dependent, but who says you can't just have it in the living room if the weather decides not to play ball?
3. Make homemade pizza
Pizza is fun and easy to make. You can even buy the pre-made dough if you aren't confident enough to make your own.4. Watch a movie under the blanket
Popcorn, candles and a good film = perfect date. This is perfect for those cold days and keeping the winter blues at bay.5. Go for a walk
This can be anything from a walk to the local pub, a ramble in the countryside, to anything in-between. We love walking along the river paths and finding a lovely pub.6. Cook, a surprise meal for your partner
7. Learn something together
Maybe if you have an upcoming trip to a different country, you could learn the language together? Or go on an experience day like gin making, if you want just a fun day.8. Work out together
The final and a more energetic way to create lasting memories together is by working out together. It can be really motivating to go together. Plus you both get the feel-good endorphins buzzing.
Why not take it even further and enter a race or something you can train together for?
So, no more excuses:
The critical thing to remember is to spend quality time together. Make time for dates. One of the biggest excuses for not going on dates is a lack of time or money. What if we make time by changing routines and try to reduce the stress in our lives? Plus you don't have to spend a fortune, and there's so much you can do for free.
Whatever you do, just remember to spend quality time and do things together and create those lasting memories.
'Enjoy the little things for one day you may look back and realise they were the big things.' - Robert Braul
